Feeling blue

One of my friend back in the UK has had a baby boy last August. I did not have a chance to welcome him or even send him a gift, and felt guilty about it. Felt even more guilty when I received an e-mail from Sarah asking news from me.

Here is what I am knitting:

It is almost finished, but I need an extra ball for the hood, it will have to wait until we are
back to Singapore.

In the meantime, my fingers are itching and I had to start a new project for Gaia: it is
called " Sugar and spice and everything nice: that's what little girls are made of". And
little Gaia look very sweet indeed.

A baby girl

MP's Bb has arrived on December 22nd. Welcome to Gaïa, lovely little girl. I can't wait to see you, to hold you.

But the question is: Does that make me a God Grand-mother or a Grand God Mother considering that MP is my God Daughter and Alice, my Daughter is going to be the God mother?

Secret Santa

The other day, the Quilters without Borders (the group I belong) had their Xmas party. OK is was probably 32 degre C outside, but this did not stop us to eat, drink and be merry.

We also exchange our Secret Santa presents. Here is what I received from Mandy (I know not so secret after all!).

And here what I made for Joyce. I also gave her a selection of cream on cream fat quarters. The pattern come from Cinderberry Stitches, here.

In love with Indonesian Batik

You might have seen the Batik patch (still to be quilted), here are some other realisations in Batik.
  • A dress for Juliette, she has chosen the colour and it works well on her.

  • This skirt is for Edna as a Xmas present (thanks Alice for modeling).

  • I am currently working on another dress for Juliette's friend.

The Fantastic Three - tous champions

Last Saturday, my "monsters" participated to the inter-school Aquathlon:

  • Juliette swam 200 m and ran 1.280 km,
  • Victor swam 300 m for 1.920 km run,
  • Alice did 400 m swim with 3.200 km run.
all did very well and I was so impressed by their performance
especially under the heat we had. I would I love to give you the final
results but the French School is unfashionably late in publishing them!

Here are some pictures:

Christmas is coming!

How many days to Christmas? 10, and for us it is less than 5 days
before we go back home, to my parents' home in France. I guess it is
time to get the Christmas decorations out.

Here are a few decorations I made last year and the year before. The pattern is from Country Folk by Brenda Walker.

did this for the entrance door. I can't remember where I found the
original idea, but I've seen it in several blogs since. NB. if you find
the instructions, please do not skip the part where it is recommended
to glue the ball to their hook - I did not glue mine and they dropped
on the floor, Alice has had to redo everything. The result is very

Here is the finished Christmas Quilt. In the end, I am quite please
with the result, although the machine quilting is not great. Will do
better next time.

Yesterday, I went fabric hunting with my
friends from the Quilt group. We went to People's Place. It is a great
place with plenty of choice at a reasonable price. I bought 2 pieces.
It is my starting point for MP's Bb's quilt. I am not quite sure what I
will be making yet. Should I wait until the little one arrives?
